Day-Long Creativity and Jin Shin Jyutsu retreat, August 20, Bellingham, WA.

Join Jaya Ashmore for a day-long retreat incorporating the Japanese healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu into deep rest meditation practice. Jin means "human being," Shin means "spirit, heart, or god," and Jyutsu means “techniques or tricks”—so Jin Shin Jyutsu is a name for the art of discovering and playing with sacredness in life. This art uses simple hand positions—many of them easy to include in a meditation posture—to help tune into a deep, “underlying harmony.” Both Jin Shin Jyutsu and meditation practices empower us to align with this deeper reality and improvise with our humanness and the mystery of life for the benefit of the whole.

The event will be held from 9am-4pm at the Human Development Centre in downtown Bellingham, with alternating periods of deep rest meditation, walking meditation/embodied movement practice, and a dharma talk. We will have snacks and beverages on-site, but lunch will not be provided. However, there are several places within walking distance to eat.

The event is offered on a sliding scale from $25-$50, and covers the rental of the space. Open Dharma can provide partial scholarships, if needed.

Jaya offers her teachings on donation, and there will be an opportunity to give a financial gift at the end of the retreat.

If you need financial support to attend or have any questions about the event, please email jaime@opendharma.org. And for more information on Jin Shin Jyutsu, please visit https://jinshinjyutsuspiritmindbody.com/

Thank you, we look forward to being with you!
